Round tour "Viehbergalm" around the Grimming

This circular mountain bike tour is one of the absolute classics on a mountain bike vacation in Ausseerland - a long, challenging and spectacularly scenic tour around the majestic Grimming. The S524 Viehbergalm tour offers everything ambitious bikers are looking for: forest roads with great views, rustic mountain huts and sporting challenges. It is the longest recommended route in the tour offer and a real highlight for experienced bikers.

The start is in the center of Bad Mitterndorf. From here, the route leads past the GrimmingTherme thermal spa and through Bad Heilbrunn to the Salza reservoir. At km 3.7, a forest path branches off to the right at the barrier and leads onto a scenic route: gently ascending, criss-crossed by small streams, alpine huts and rock formations.

The trail leads past the Miesbodensee lake up to the Viehbergalm at 1,445 meters above sea level. A well-earned rest awaits you here with the famous Ennstal Steirerkrapfen doughnuts. The route then continues towards the "Öfen" - an impressive section with narrow rock passages. An easy forest road takes you to the district of Lend/Winkl and finally Gröbming, where you can take a short break.

From the district of Kaindorf, you change to the Enns Cycle Path R7, which leads through the Enns Valley to Trautenfels. Here you change to the Salzkammergut cycle path R19, which leads through idyllic villages such as Untergrimming and Klachau back to Bad Mitterndorf.
