The Steiralauf in Bad Mitterndorf in the Ausseerland Salzkammergut is one of the most traditional folk cross-country ski races in Austria and will take place in 2027 for the 47th time. With various distances in classic and freestyle techniques as well as a fun run, there is something for every cross-country skiing enthusiast. A varied supporting program and service offerings complete the weekend.
The municipality Bad Mitterndorf turns once again into a cross-country skiing hotspot in the Ausseerland surrounding the Steiralauf. This sporting event excites both amateur cross-country skiers and professionals, offering a special cross-country skiing experience amidst the impressive nature of the region.
The excellent trails run through the winter landscape around Bad Mitterndorf and provide breathtaking views of the surrounding mountains and the imposing Grimming.
The start and finish area is located in close proximity to the GrimmingTherme. Free testing opportunities for skis and cross-country equipment, as well as excellent refreshments along the course and in the finish area, complete the event.
The Steiralauf combines athletic challenge, perfect trail conditions, and the unique landscape of the Ausseerland into a special experience for cross-country skiers and spectators. In the Grimminghalle, the Steiralauf weekend is appropriately rounded off with the awards ceremony and the subsequent raffle of attractive prizes.

30 km – classic technique | Start: 9:45 a.m.

Where are the courses as well as the start and finish areas?
The courses lead through the extensive trail network of Bad Mitterndorf. The start and finish area is located in close proximity to the GrimmingTherme.
What is the entry fee for the different events?
50 km / 30 km / 25 km: € 50
10 km: € 35
Included in the entry fee: start fee, start number, 4 hours at GrimmingTherme, chip rental, Löffler headband, refreshments, and commemorative medal.
Until when can I register?
Registration until January 23, 2027 qualifies for participation in the prize draw. Late registrations are possible online or on-site for an additional fee.
How does the timing work?
Timing is done using a RACE RESULT chip. Without a chip, timing is not possible.
