Guided tour in Kainisch

A varied hike with the forestry operation Inner Salzkammergut through the European protected area Ödensee. The focus is on the Ödenseemoor as a valuable CO₂ reservoir, renaturation measures, as well as exciting insights into forest management and the challenges of climate change.
Join the forest enterprise Inner Salzkammergut on a varied guided hike through the European protected area Ödensee in the Ausseerland .
Together we will discover the Ödenseemoor, a valuable CO₂ store and part of a LIFE+ project, and learn how targeted renaturation measures can contribute to climate protection. Along the way to the lake, exciting insights into the world of reforestation forests will be given, and more about easement rights, natural regeneration, and climate-resilient mixed forests will be shared.
After a strengthening snack at Ödensee, participants will focus on the traces left by storm events and bark beetle infestations in the forests. It will also be explained what targeted measures are taken to respond to these challenges and what strategies help to prepare the forests for the climatic conditions of the future.

Registrations can be made through the website.
Equipment
Sturdy footwear and weather-resistant clothing are recommended. It is also requested to bring work gloves so that beetle bark, tools, and similar items can be handled and examined without issues.
Meeting point
The meeting point is the parking lot by the Traun bridge to Ödensee, directly on the road from Kainisch towards Ödensee and immediately by the bridge over the Kainischtraun.
Additional information
The tour takes place with a minimum of five registrations and in basically any weather. The number of participants is limited to 20 people. In extreme weather conditions, the tour may be canceled at short notice. In this case, participants will be informed by phone and email the day before.
