Alpine hut Grazerhütte
Information
Experience nature on foot and take a deep breath. Nowhere is this better than at the Grazerhütte, located in a magnificent view and sunny spot.
The Grazerhütte, built in 1928 and led by world citizen and friend of the Dalai Lama Heinrich Harrer from 1933 to 1934, is situated directly on the 6-Lakes-Hike on the Tauplitzalm. For ambitious and experienced guests, the Traweng can be reached via the normal path or the Gamsblick climbing route, which is right behind the house.
For your refreshment, we offer typical cabin food, as well as freshly tapped beer, quality Burgenland and Styrian wines, and a good schnapps. Optionally in the cozy, rustic cabin or on our sun terrace with panoramic views.
The cabin offers cozy beds for up to 52 people - half in double, triple, quadruple, quintuple, or six-bed rooms and the other half in two dormitories with 12 and 14 beds respectively. Fresh, soft bed linen is provided.
Additional comfort is provided by the shared washrooms with showers - warm and free - and separate sinks for men and women, solar-powered central heating, a ski room and boot dryer, toilets on every floor, as well as Wi-Fi throughout the cabin. An infrared cabin helps to rejuvenate tired muscles.
For little hikers, there are a sandbox, toys and games, a travel cot, books, changing pad, high chairs, travel bed, etc.
In summer, guests stay right at the popular family-friendly 6-Lakes-Hike, a scenic jewel. The lakes hike along six crystal-clear mountain lakes offers unforgettable views of the Grimming, the Sturzhahn (once the climbing mountain of Heinrich Harrer) and enchants with lush flora and fauna. For the sporty, the Grazerhütte serves as an ideal starting point for hikes and alpine tours. Shortly after the Grazerhütte, the ascent to Traweng (1,981 meters) begins. The "Gamsblick" climbing route is in close proximity.
In winter, the Tauplitzalm is car-free and guests find beautiful ski and snowshoe tours as well as a winter hiking trail right at the doorstep. The entire Tote Gebirge can be explored from here. The cross-country ski trail is located in a dreamlike setting and is well-prepared - access directly from the Grazerhütte is possible. Of course, the cabin is also suitable for alpine skiers. The 43 beautiful kilometers of slopes at the Tauplitzalm (with children's area) are accessible by ski. Ski schools and a ski rental are nearby.
For groups, a non-binding quote can be prepared. The entire cabin can also be reserved for private use. Due to its unique location, the Grazerhütte is ideal for seminars and team-building activities. Relaxed atmosphere, outdoor opportunities right at the doorstep: winter and summer.
I am happy to provide information regarding a stay at the Grazerhütte in Tauplitz by phone or email!
