The Sonnenplateau Bad Aussee is an easy circular trail above the town of Bad Aussee. Over a distance of about 2.7 km, the prepared path leads through forest and meadow sections, offering wonderful views of the surrounding mountains and Mount Sarstein. Start and finish are at the Narzissen Vital Resort, where ample parking is available. Ideal for families, walkers, and winter hikers – with the option to stop for refreshments at the Narzissen Vital Resort.

The Sonnenplateau Bad Aussee is an easily accessible circular trail above Bad Aussee, perfect for a leisurely walk or winter hike. Covering about 2.7 km, the route is classified as very easy and is ideal for families. It leads through forest sections and open areas where you can enjoy the winter sun and take in the stunning mountain panorama surrounding Bad Aussee.

The trail starts at the Narzissen Vital Resort, where ample parking is available. The prepared walking path runs alongside the cross-country ski trail, offering beautiful views of Mount Sarstein. It continues below the G'sund-Natur-Hotel Die Wasnerin and ends back at the starting point.

After the walk, the Narzissen Vital Resort invites you to relax in the warm thermal waters or enjoy coffee and cake with a view of the mountains.

It is best to plan your journey to Bad Aussee using google.at/maps.
There are plenty of free parking spaces available at the Narzissen Vital Resort.

Before the entrance to the Narzissen Vital Resort turn right and follow the prepared footpath, always with the Sarstein in view.

At the next road, the path leads in the opposite direction again, below the Hotel Die Wasnerin and south of the Narzissen Vital Resort in the direction of Teichschloß. At the next intersection (another entry point for this hike) you return to the starting point.

Proper backpacking makes many things easier:

pack heavy things first.
The water bottle should always be within easy reach in a side pocket.
All things that are often needed such as sunglasses, camera or hiking map belong on top.
An emergency kit including blister plaster belongs in every backpack and a clothing according to the "onion system" is always recommended!
