This easy 8 km winter hike (about 2 hours) starts opposite the Hotel Grimmingblick and follows groomed trails through the valley, offering wonderful views of the Grimming and the Totes Gebirge mountains.
The route is flat, family-friendly, and suitable for dogs on a leash. Free parking is available at the GrimmingTherme.

This 8 km winter hike starts opposite the Hotel Grimmingblick and follows a groomed trail through the wide valley of Bad Mitterndorf, offering impressive views of the Grimming and mountain range Totes Gebirge mountains. The walk takes about 2 hours and, thanks to its flat terrain, is also well suited for children.

The paths are wide, level, and easy to walk, making them ideal for families and leisurely walkers. Free parking is available nearby, for example at the GrimmingTherme. The route is also dog-friendly, provided dogs are kept on a leash.

It is best to plan your journey to Bad Mitterndorf with google.at/maps.
Parking spaces are available in the center of Bad Mitterndorf. There is a large, free parking lot at the Grimminghalle. From there it is about a five-minute walk to the entrance to the winter hiking trail.

The trail with a length of about seven kilometers starts at the ice skating rink (opposite the Hotel 4 Jahreszeiten). After a short section through the forest, you reach the sunny "Streben" and follow the path to Krungl, past the Landhotel Kanzler in the direction of the main road. Here you use the safe underpass and hike slightly uphill to Zauchen to the toll booth of the Tauplitzalm Alpine Road. You can easily get back to the center on the sidewalk next to the village road.

Proper backpacking makes many things easier:

pack heavy things first.

An emergency kit including blister plaster belongs in every backpack and a clothing according to the "onion system" is always recommended.
