The S110 Seewiese Tour is a short but particularly scenic mountain bike family tour in the Ausseerland region. The route runs along Lake Altaussee on wide gravel roads without any significant inclines – perfect for beginners, families, or relaxed leisure biking.

The starting point is the Scheichlmühle car park (P5) in Altaussee. From here, the route leads on asphalt towards Obertressen. After the bridge, turn left and head up to Bartlhof. From the barrier, the gravel Seewiesenstraße begins, which leads evenly and without any significant differences in altitude to the end of Lake Altaussee and on to Stummernalm.

Along the way, there are fantastic views of the lake and the impressive Dachstein massif. However, it is not permitted to descend to the Seewiese hunting lodge. The return journey follows the same route.

This tour is a highlight for mountain biking holidays in Ausseerland with the family. It combines nature experiences on two wheels, gentle exercise, and a fantastic view of one of the most beautiful lake and mountain backdrops in Styria.

Emergency Reporting Tip - Provide answers to the six W questions:

  • What happened?
  • How many injured?
  • Where did the accident happen (possibly GPS coordinates)?
  • Who is reporting (callback number)?
  • When did the accident happen?
  • Weather at the accident site?

Please note the disclaimer!

A few tips for safe biking:
  • Before and after each bike tour check the air pressure, spoke tension and brake pads.
  • The helmet belongs to every tour.
  • Consider in advance what equipment you need: warm clothing, rain and wind protection, repair kit and first aid kit belong in the backpack. Also a charged cell phone.
Along the tour there are several opportunities to park the bike (attention to road safety) and make a detour to the lake. In the warm seasons, a swim in Lake Altaussee is mandatory.
