The Gößler Trail offers ideal conditions for both classic cross-country skiers and skaters. Starting at Pension Hofmann, it runs across open meadows and through forest sections to the secluded Lake Toplitzsee—an exceptional winter nature experience. The route is suitable for beginners as well as more ambitious skiers. Well signposted and varied, it perfectly combines enjoyment and sporting challenge in the heart of the Salzkammergut region.

This trail is suitable for both classic and skating styles. The local network is narrow and winding, leading through forest paths and gentle ups and downs. It offers a good mix for beginners as well as more experienced skiers. A special highlight is the beautiful Toplitzsee, which makes this route a true nature experience.

The starting point is at Pension Hofmann, where the first sections of the trail begin. From there, it leads through a forest path all the way to the Toplitzsee. On the way back to the starting point, you can take a break at the „Rostige Anker“ or the Freizeitplatz Gößl.

The trail is well signposted, so you can easily find your way. It perfectly combines leisure enjoyment with sporting activity.

All routes in Altaussee, Grundlsee and Bad Aussee are free of charge.

More information

The best way to get to Grundlsee is to plan with google.at/maps
The starting point at Pension Hofmann opens the comfortable parts of the route near the village. Further on, you branch off into a forest section that leads to the Toplitzsee lake. From the start at the "Fischhaus" you are led straight ahead to the Gößlerwiesen. A more demanding part for well-trained technicians who love open landscapes and want to enjoy beautiful views. About 100 meters after the entrance you follow the trail branching off to the right to the Toplitzsee.
The personal exploration of the Goessler conditions is recommended. This will determine the most suitable entry and choose the most enjoyable route.
At the Rusty Anchor or recreational place Goessl "Fish House".
