The Tauscherin

A short walk, a beautiful view, and right in the middle of the Ausseerland: The Tauscherin above the Kurpark Bad Aussee is a special viewpoint for anyone who wants to take a little break with a wide view.

From the comfortable rest benches, a beautiful view opens up over Bad Aussee with the historic town center and the Stadtpfarrkirche St. Paul. All around, the impressive mountain landscape of the Ausseerland shows itself with Loser, Trisselwand, Sarstein and the Dachstein massif.

The Tauscherin is accessible on foot from the Kurpark Bad Aussee. The path leads up to the viewpoint via the Gamsen bridge and some steps. The short, slightly steeper ascent is rewarded with a magnificent panorama.

Whether as a small break during a walk through Bad Aussee, as a cozy destination for a short excursion, or as a quiet place to enjoy the landscape – the Tauscherin can be beautifully combined with a visit to the Kurpark and the town center.

Especially atmospheric is the viewpoint in the early morning or in the evening, when the light casts a special play of colors over the mountains and rooftops of Bad Aussee. On a clear night, it's worth looking up: With a bit of luck, shooting stars can even be observed here.
