The mostly fog-free Loser is one of the most attractive excursion destinations in the Ausseerland Salzkammergut, offering stunning views of the Ausseerland and the nearby Upper Austria.
After nine kilometers of panoramic road, the parking lot at 1,600 meters above sea level is reached, serving as a starting point for numerous hikes on the Loser and into the heart of the Totes Gebirge.
Via the Loseralm , the Erlebnis Berg Loser opens up to excursionists and hikers. From the Loser Plateau, numerous walking paths, hiking routes, and mountain tours of varying difficulty lead to some of the most significant peaks and beautiful viewpoints in the Salzkammergut.
With the Panoramabahn , you can comfortably reach the mountain station directly next to the Loseralm.
TIP: Erzherzog Johann Circling Trail around Augstsee - easily accessible from the Loseralm!
New Thematic Trails bring to life the history, nature, and world of legends of the Ausserland!
Singletrail "Augst Trail" at Loser. The diverse & exciting MTB trail invites you to explore the rugged nature of the Loser!
Difficulty: S2 - medium; also suitable for e-mountain bikes. Info: www.loser.at/augsttrail
Loser Panorama Climbing Route "Sophie" on the Dimlwand at the Loser Plateau is an attractive offer even for adult beginner climbers and serves excellently as climbing training for all age groups.
Panorama Climbing Route "Sisi"
The interesting route is named after the empress because she is said to have climbed the Loser under her own power. It rightfully carries the designation "Panorama Climbing Route": The view over the Styrian Salzkammergut and towards the Dachstein is sensational.
