With the Loser Legends – Mountaincart Salzkammergut, a special mountain experience awaits with the descent from Loser, the local mountain of Altaussee. After the comfortable ascent with the Loser Panoramabahn cable car, the mountain cart ride back down into the valley begins at the mountain station, combined with impressive views of the mountain world of Ausseerland Salzkammergut.
The route, referred to as “9K,” covers 9 kilometers of asphalt, 750 meters of elevation, and 14 bends from the mountain station to the valley station of mountain Loser. The speed can be determined individually: from leisurely to sporty. The route and procedures have been tested by TÜV SÜD and classified as easy.
With many memories after the mountain cart ride back at the valley station of Loser, a visit to the lake Altausseer See, which is only a few minutes away, or a delightful meal in the spa town Altaussee is recommended: this way, the mountain experience at Loser can be ideally combined with further excursion destinations in the region of Ausseerland Salzkammergut.

Suitable for
Driving independently is possible from 10 years old and a height of at least 1.40 meters. Between the ages of 10 and 14, an accompanying adult is required; from the age of 15, driving alone is permitted. This makes the Mountaincart experience at Loser suitable for families, groups, and joint excursions in the Salzkammergut.
Equipment
Before the start, there is a short briefing at the mountain station: Helmet and mountain cart are provided on-site. The mountain carts have a low center of gravity, a wide wheelbase, and hydraulic disc brakes.
Good to know
How long does the descent from Loser with the mountain carts take?
For the actual descent, an average of about 30 minutes is needed. For the ascent, instructions, and mountain cart ride, a total of about 1.5 hours should be planned.
Price information
Tickets are available directly at Loser Legends next to the valley station or at the Loser mountain station; prior reservation is generally not required.
