You are fishing in a body of water that the legendary fly fisherman Charles Ritz claimed was the jewel of Central Europe. The waters are managed in a natural way. In this context, we request that you be as considerate as possible towards the fauna and flora.
The IG Traun wishes you much success in your nature experience of fly fishing. Tight lines!

FISHING REGULATIONS
What is allowed?
Only fly fishing with artificial flies (dry flies, wet flies, and nymphs) using barbless hooks or flattened/broken barbs on a rod with a leader line is permitted.
Not allowed!
Also not allowed are additional weights or lead heads, excessively heavy jig lures, lead-weighted sink lines, and bite indicators. The hook size must be between sizes 10 and 20. Multiple hooks are prohibited; only one fly per rod is allowed. Methods such as "Tiroler Hölzl," "Czech or French Nymphing," and Squirmy Worms (silicone worms) are prohibited.
Closed Seasons:
Grayling 15.02. – 15.06.
Brown trout 16.09. – 15.03.
Rainbow trout 01.01. – 15.03.
A limited number of daily tickets are issued.
Fishing is only allowed during daylight hours; conducting commercial fly fishing training is prohibited. Only one rainbow trout or brown trout (minimum size 30 cm and maximum size 35 cm) or one brook char (minimum size 23 cm) may be taken per day. The caught rainbow trout or brook char must be killed humanely immediately and recorded in the license. It is requested to handle the fish gently and to unhook it in the water.
Wading is dangerous – use a wading belt, suitable footwear, and a wading stick. The license issuer assumes no liability for accidents, injuries, and their consequences. The instructions of the fishery supervision must be strictly followed. The license is non-transferable. By purchasing this license, you accept the posted, detailed license conditions.
The manager, the association "IG Traun-Ursprung," is free to reject applications for fishing licenses without providing reasons.
Issued licenses are not refunded and are not transferable. If a parent possesses a valid daily license, it is possible to allow a child aged 8 to 14 to fish alternately at their own risk, in the interest of youth promotion. For youths aged 15 to 18, a juvenile license must be obtained.
The provisions of the Styrian Fisheries Act in its valid form must be observed. The instructions of the sworn supervisory bodies must be strictly followed. Violations of these provisions result in the immediate, unconditional revocation of the fishing license without compensation.
The license holder is solely responsible for any damages caused or any accidents of any kind, including those of accompanying persons or children. The association "IG Traun-Ursprung" is only liable for damages caused intentionally or through gross negligence. The license holder indemnifies the association "IG Traun-Ursprung" against all third-party claims in connection with this license agreement.
By acquiring a license, the license holder expressly agrees to the fishing regulations and undertakes to comply with them. Unused licenses lose their validity at the end of the respective year and are not transferable to the next year. No compensation for non-redemption!
