Delicacies of the mangalitza pig
Bad Mitterndorf
Erwin Stadler, known as Veit, breeds Mangalica pigs in Zauchen in the municipality of Bad Mitterndorf.
The Mangalica pigs are outdoors all year round and can cope well with temperatures as low as around minus 30 degrees Celsius. On Erwin Stadler’s estate, the pigs can run about to their heart’s content and, in the truest sense of the word, ‘let their hair down’. Speciality products made from Mangalica pork, such as bacon, sausages and lard, can be purchased directly at the farm in Zauchen.
