Steiralauf
The Steiralauf in Bad Mitterndorf in the Ausseerland Salzkammergut is one of the most traditional cross-country skiing events in Austria and will take place in 2027 for the 47th time. With various distances in classic and freestyle techniques as well as a fun run, there is something for all cross-country skiing enthusiasts. A varied supporting program and service offerings complete the weekend.
The municipality Bad Mitterndorf transforms around the Steiralauf back into a cross-country skiing hotspot in Ausseerland Salzkammergut. The sporting event excites hobby cross-country skiers as well as ambitious athletes and offers a unique cross-country skiing experience amid the impressive nature of the region.
The excellent trails lead through the winter landscape around Bad Mitterndorf and provide breathtaking views of the surrounding mountains and the imposing Grimming.
The start and finish area is located in immediate proximity to the GrimmingTherme. Free testing opportunities for skis and cross-country skiing equipment, as well as excellent catering along the route and in the finish area, round off the event.
The Steiralauf combines sports challenge, perfect trail conditions, and the unique landscape of Ausseerland Salzkammergut into a special experience for cross-country skiers and spectators. In the Grimminghalle, the Steiralauf weekend will be suitably rounded off with the award ceremonies and the subsequent raffle of attractive prizes.

- 10 km Dirndl-Steiralauf | Start: 10:30 a.m.
Where are the tracks and the start and finish area located?
- The tracks lead through the extensive trail network of Bad Mitterndorf. The start and finish area is located in close proximity to the GrimmingTherme.
What is the entry fee for the various competitions?
- 50 km / 30 km / 25 km: € 50
- 10 km: € 35
The entry fee includes: entry fee, starting number, 4 hours of GrimmingTherme, chip rental, Löffler headband, refreshments, and commemorative medal.
Until when can I register?
Registration by 01.23.2026 qualifies for participation in the prize drawing. Late registrations are possible online or on-site for an additional fee.
How does the timing work?
Timing is done using a RACE RESULT chip. Without a chip, timing is not possible.
