Concert Ausseer Barocktage 2026 - "Diálogos"

In the ambiance of the City Parish Church in Bad Aussee, the audience can expect an evening in the heart of Ausseerland amidst a magical sound world: The Accademia del Piacere with Fahmi Alquai (viola da gamba & direction) and the flamenco singer Alba Carmona enchant the audience with Spanish sounds.

In the first concert of the Ausseer Baroque Days 2026, we dive into the passionate world of Spanish music. The internationally successful ensemble Accademia del Piacere, led by the celebrated gambist Fahmi Alquai, which performs at numerous renowned festivals across Europe and overseas, presents a captivating dialogue between the treasures of Spanish Baroque music and the primal essence of flamenco along with the sensuality of tango.

Authentic Spanish Baroque music is juxtaposed with today's flamenco, masterfully interpreted by the singer Alba Carmona, a new young star of the flamenco scene. For one evening, Alba Carmona and Fahmi Alqhai, together with the ensemble Accademia del Piacere, embark on a quest to find the touchpoints between traditional heritage and contemporary sound, creating a unique, bold fusion.

Both music styles, flamenco as well as the Baroque chaconas and marionas, seguiriyas, and tangos, have seen the great wide world; they have traveled across the seas from Andalusia to South America and back to Andalusia to find their very own style. Deeply rooted music styles like flamenco continually grow new branches from the trunk of their traditions, creating a constant interaction between the new and the old. A special sound experience!
