Information
The Loserhütte is situated at an elevation of 1,540 meters above sea level in the area of the Dead Mountains, above Altaussee, and is a popular destination for hikers and mountain sports enthusiasts.
This mountain hut with overnight accommodations is very popular in both summer and winter.
From the large sun terrace, visitors can enjoy a unique view over Altaussee and Bad Aussee extending to countless mountain peaks. The hut serves as a starting point or intermediate stop for hikes and mountain tours in the Ausseerland Region. From here, numerous tour options are available, including excursions to the Loser and the Hochanger.
Wild and Styrian specialties are served from the local delicacies kitchen.
The Loser peak can be reached in one hour, and the circular trail continues over the Hochanger, the famous Loser window, and the Augstsee back to the hut.
The Alpine club hut is often used as a starting or destination point for a multi-day hike into the Dead Mountains.

In winter, the Loser panoramic road is not cleared!
Ski tourers and pedestrians walk along the groomed family slope to the hut, or use the Loser panoramic lift for the ascent.
