Holiday home "Steffhaus"
Information
Between the towns of the Ausseerland region Grundlsee, Altaussee, and Bad Aussee lies the cozy vacation home "Steffhaus" in the district of Obertressen. At the foot of mount Tressenstein, surrounded by magical and lush green meadows, the traditional wooden house promises pure peace and idyll. Lovingly renovated and furnished, the Steffhaus exudes a blend of warm coziness and elegant flair.
On the spacious wooden terrace with a view of the mountain "Sarstein", guests practically float above the landscape of Bad Aussee – in the private garden, long and sociable evenings in the evening light of the Ausseerland region, surrounded by an idyllic natural backdrop, are pre-programmed. The light-flooded veranda invites you as a sunniest oasis to enjoy soothing sun hoursamong green meadows & trees at the foot of the Tressenstein.
Whether as a group of friends, a family with children, or as a couple: Guests will find peace after a day full of experiences in Ausseerland Salzkammergut in the generous 225 square meters of living space with 3 bedrooms. Culinary delights can be prepared comfortably in the large kitchen. The Steffhaus is not an ordinary holiday home but is used as a guesthouse for families and is carefully maintained. A respectful handling of the furnishings and the decor from the family estate is fundamental for the stay.
The hosts are happy to provide information about staying at Steffhaus in Bad Aussee by phone or email!
Various hiking opportunities for every level and crystal clear mountain lakes await just outside the door: Just a few steps are enough to admire a special piece of nature: The Lime Tree "Hofmannsthal Linde" - in the midst of a charming meadow. It is a reminder of the writer Hugo von Hofmannsthal, who, like many other personalities from art & culture, was magnetically attracted to the surroundings.
A short climb through meadows & forests takes hikers to one of their favorite spots – the romantic nature spot Bärnmoos. Those who want to extend the route can explore the Bärnmoos via the Himmelsleiter (Heavenly Ladder), or stroll along the beautiful promenade paths with the circular route from Grundlsee - Mosern – Obertressen to Bad Aussee.
Nature lovers who wish to be out a little longer can hike to one of Grundlsee's most popular excursion destinations from the Steffhaus: the Tressenstein Lookout Tower, which attracts visitors with a 360° panoramic view of the surrounding mountains and lakes of Ausseerland Salzkammergut up to the mountains of Dachstein massif.
Right at the door, cyclists can explore the region via the Ausseer Cycle Path R61 by bike or e-bike – passing the picturesque lake Grundlsee and the charming Lake Altaussee, a short refreshment in the cool waters of the crystal-clear lakes is just right.
