Hollhaus
Information
The ÖAV House was built in 1925. In 1962, the Hollhaus was leased by the Hüttner family (Theresia Hüttner) and was purchased in 2009 by Sigrun and Klaus Hüttner. Meanwhile, the Hollhaus is run by the third generation of the Hüttner family (Christoph Hüttner) and is privately owned.
The 19 rooms are all comfortably furnished with handcrafted wooden beds with modern mattresses and equipped with a sink. The shower and toilet are located in the hallway. You will be pampered with regional and typically Austrian dishes on the sun terrace or in the guesthouse.
The Hollhaus is considered a specialist for family mountain vacations. In the weekly bookable summer weeks from July to September, a different destination on the 6-lake high plateau is targeted every day of the week. The excursions are led by trained hiking guides and children's animation or youth supervisors. This makes it possible to be safely on the go together but also without children. The experience vacation with varied hikes and leisure activities, such as building fairy houses in the woods or searching for glitter stones at the fairy tale lake, is rounded off with stories by the campfire under the starry sky of the Tauplitzalm.
In winter, the Hollhaus is located directly on the slope, so nothing stands in the way of a successful ski day or a winter hike. In winter, just like in summer, fun, adventure, and lots of time with your own family are pre-programmed in the Hollhaus.
We are happy to provide information regarding a stay at the Hollhaus on the Tauplitzalm by phone or email.

Host information
The Hollhaus was built in 1925 at the foot of the Lawinenstein and officially opened on September 6, 1925. As early as 1926, the lodge was transferred to the “Austria” Section of the Austrian Alpine Club. In the following years, it was continuously expanded and modernized.
In 1960, Erwin and Theresia Hüttner took over the Hollhaus on a leasehold basis. In 1992, Klaus and Sigrun Hüttner continued to run the family business and eventually acquired the Hollhaus in 2009 with the support of the Austrian Alpine Club. To this day, it remains a partner lodge of the Austrian Alpine Club.
Since winter 2024, Christoph Hüttner has continued to run the Hollhaus with great dedication as the third generation – and, for the first time, as the successor of the privately owned business. In doing so, he continues a family tradition spanning more than 60 years.
