Family service and Advent wreath blessing

Many churchgoers bring their mostly handmade Advent wreaths to the family service at the Altaussee parish church on the first Advent Sunday. Following the holy mass, the colorful and lovingly designed Advent wreaths will be blessed.
At the end of the village street of the spa town Altaussee, in the district of Fischerndorf, is the Roman Catholic parish church, which is dedicated to Saint Aegidius.
On the 1st Advent Sunday, there will be a very colorful altar in the Altaussee church. Many children and young people, along with their relatives, as well as locals and friends proudly lay down the mostly self-made and decorated Advent wreath in front of the altar.
The family service in the Altaussee church provides the first Advent atmosphere and is entirely focused on the Advent wreaths. After the holy mass, the blessing of the Advent wreath will be performed by our pastor.
Thus, the visitors look forward to this evening when the first candle of the blessed Advent wreath will be lit.
