Carnival parade through the village
The annual Carnival Parade through the village Altaussee fills the streets and paths of the community with cheerful carnival spirit, which can be heard at every corner of the town at the foot of Mount Loser on this day. Here, not only do the participants come up with particularly imaginative costumes, but the spectators are also creatively dressed up.
For years, the traditional carnival parade through the town center has been a highlight of carnival in Altaussee. Led by the costumed musicians of the local brass band Salinenmusik Altaussee, the colorful costumed Maschkera march through the town center, spreading a lively carnival atmosphere. Many groups, from large to small, participate in this parade, creating a particularly joyful ambiance together with all the colorfully dressed participants and visitors.
The colorful parade starts at the tavern Postillions Einkehr. After a stop at the café-bakery Maislinger, it continues to the Kurpark Altaussee, where the parade concludes, but the carnival festivities do not end there. Afterwards, there will be cheerful celebrations, raising a toast to the Carnival in Ausseerland Salzkammergut. From 6:00 pm onwards, tavern "Schneiderwirt" welcomes hungry and thirsty masqueraders to its carnival bar with drinks and small dishes from the kitchen.
