On Saturday, October 31, at 6 p.m., Christian Hoffmann presents his Vienna crime novel “The Sphinx in the Morning Light.” The story revolves around a mysterious woman, a missing hard drive, and a dead body – read by the author, accompanied by Theresa Duschl on the harp.

A mysterious woman. A missing hard drive. A dead man. In the park of Belvedere Palace, right next to a baroque sphinx, journalist Paul Fitzner encounters a photographer while jogging. She accompanies him to his apartment after dinner. But shortly after their arrival, the film cuts out. The next morning, Paul wakes up with a severe headache. The woman has vanished – as has his laptop and an external hard drive. Behind the apparent love affair lies a dangerous secret – and Paul himself has long been a part of it.

The event takes place at the Kammerhofmuseum Bad Aussee, a traditional museum in the heart of Bad Aussee that makes the history, culture, and peculiarities of the Ausseerland tangible.
