Naturpark Sölktäler
Schwarzensee is the largest mountain lake in the Niedere Tauern mountains.
The Schwarzensee is the largest mountain lake in the Lower Tauern and is located in the Kleinsölktal, surrounded by steep mountain slopes.
You can reach the lake by taking an easy hike from the Breitlahnhütte via the hiking trail 786. An unmarked path and the Harmeralm allow for a circuit around the lake. The managed alpine pastures around the Schwarzensee invite you for a cozy, authentic stay.
The parking fee (automated), is a vehicle fee and is not person-specific, which aims to encourage fewer but better-filled cars to drive on this road.
Together with the alpine farmers, the Sölktäler Nature Park, and the municipality of Sölk, we are committed to preserving the beauty of the landscape - for you as well. Certain facilities (parking and resting areas, paths, etc.) need to be established and maintained, without which an orderly coexistence of nature, tourism, agriculture, and forestry would not be possible.
NOTE: Since there is usually no internet reception throughout the entire valley, payments at mountain hut operators can only be made in cash.
By paying the parking fee, you too contribute to the preservation of this unique landscape.
