From Salzburg:
Take the A10 Tauern Motorway to Altenmarkt, then continue on the B320 towards Liezen. Take the Gröbming exit and follow the road into the town center. The Sport Mandl car park is an ideal starting point. Alternatively, you may use one of the public parking areas in Gröbming – please observe local parking regulations. -> Link
From Graz:
Take the A9 to Liezen, then follow the B320 in the direction of Schladming. Exit at Gröbming and head into the town center. The Sport Mandl car park is well suited as a starting point. Public parking areas are also available in the village – please respect local parking regulations. -> Link
You start at the main square in Gröbming and ride via the Rennbahn towards Oberwinkl. Continue via Lend towards the Öfen, where the route climbs in tight switchbacks through impressive rock formations.
Via Seeboden and Brandmoos, you reach the Viehbergalm, a great spot for a break in the alpine landscape. The route then continues via Miesboden and through the Klausgraben to Paß-Stein.
From there, continue towards the Salza reservoir and via Teichmoos and Graben to Krungl. The route then leads you via Klachau, Untergrimming, and Trautenfels further down the valley.
Via Niederstuttern and Öblarnerstraße, you reach Niederöblarn and continue to Öblarn. From there, the route takes you via Gstatt, through the Gersdorfer forest, over the Mitterberg and Zirting, and through Kaindorf back to the starting point in Gröbming.
- Plan breaks: Along the route, many huts and inns invite you to stop for a relaxing break and enjoy regional specialties.
- E-mountain bike: With electric support, the tour is also suitable for less experienced bikers. There are several e-bike charging stations along the route. Their locations can be seen on the map and in the elevation profile, making it easy to plan your tour and possible charging stops.
