From the starting point the forest road leads up to the Vordere and further to the Hintere Mörsbachalm. The way back leads over the "cool" Oxenalm and from there back to the centre of the village.

Starting from the centre of Donnersbachwald, this route leads up to the Vordere Mörsbachalm with a stop for refreshments and e-bike recharging possibility. From there, the route continues at a leisurely pace to the Hintere Mörsbachalm, where another Bike & Hike station invites you to go hiking. The way back is via the Oxenalm and then back downhill to the starting point.

Please note: This route is not suitable for bicycles with child trailers. From the highest point, you will encounter a coarse gravel and technically demanding descent, recommended only for experienced bikers.

Riding on these trails is only permitted during the following times:

From Salzburg, take the B150 and B160 to the A10 towards Graz/Villach. At Altenmarkt, switch to the B320 towards Liezen, then continue via L735, L734, and the B75, before turning off towards Donnersbachwald.

From Graz, take the B67 to the A9 towards Salzburg and exit onto the B320 at Selzthal. Follow the B320 towards Liezen and then take the exit onto the B75 towards Donnersbach. Continue on the B75 and turn off towards Donnersbachwald.

Start at the car park in the centre of Donnersbachwald and head south, passing the leisure centre and Sport Scherz. Turn right onto the Riesnerweg and follow the MTB signs across the Mörsbach stream and up to the Mörsbachalm – the perfect place for a relaxing break.

Continue uphill to the Hintere Mörsbachalm, the highest point of the tour. From there, retrace your route for a short distance before following the signs towards the Oxenalm. A partly coarse gravel descent awaits, requiring confident bike handling.

After another opportunity to stop for refreshments at the Oxenalm, the route leads back to Donnersbachwald via the leisure centre, returning you to the starting point.

Plan breaks: Along the route, many huts and inns invite you to stop for a relaxing break and enjoy regional specialties.
E-mountain bike: With electric support, the tour is also suitable for less experienced bikers. There are several e-bike charging stations along the route. Their locations can be seen on the map and in the elevation profile, making it easy to plan your tour and possible charging stops.

From Salzburg, take the InterRegio (IR) to Bischofshofen and continue with the regional train R9 to Stainach-Irdning.
From there, go to the bus stop and take bus line 941 towards Riesneralm to Donnersbachwald Ort. Then walk the last few meters to the center of Donnersbachwald.

Parking spaces are available directly at the starting point in the village centre and at the foot of the Riesneralm, about 500 metres from the starting point.
