This hike is especially suitable for a wonderful sunrise or sunset tour. At the top you will be rewarded with a magnificent view and can really anjoy the landscape.

Coming from Judenburg via Unzmarkt to Scheifling. Turn right here and drive to Murau. In Katsch an der Mur keep right againd and drive along the road to the Sölkpass.

Coming from Tamsweg via Ranten (or Stadl an der Mur) keep left towards Schöder. After Schöder turn left and drive the road to the Sölkpass.

There is a plenty of parking on the Sölkpasshöhe.

From the parking lot at the pass, we follow trail no. 9 northward at first. The trail curves to the right and then runs southeast toward the summit. We follow this path steadily uphill. Crossing the ridge, we reach the summit via a series of narrow switchbacks on the final stretch. Once at the top, we can enjoy the impressive view over the Alps, the Enns and Mur valleys, the Zwiefler Lakes, and the Kaltenbach Lakes.
The descent is via the same route we took on the way up.
