From Haus im Ennstal past the golf course to Oberhaus and back again.

This tour is an easy hike along the Enns and back to Haus im Ennstal via a side path. A short loop for a winter afternoon between the market town of Haus and Oberhaus. In Oberhaus, detours to the local Gothic church and for a stop at the Kulminarium are recommended.

Take the Ennstalbundesstraße (B320) to Haus im Ennstal and take the exit. Drive through the village to the center to Schlossplatz or alternatively to the parking lot at the Erlebnisfreibad Haus.

The hike starts at Schlossplatz Haus, from where you walk down towards the Erlebnisfreibad Haus - there are also parking facilities here if you wish to start directly from there. Passing the swimming pool, continue straight down towards the Enns until you turn left onto the field path after a few minutes. Continue in a westerly direction directly to the Enns and follow it upstream as far as Birnbergstraße. The path now leads you past the eastern side of the Golfplatz Schladming-Dachstein, so that you reach the entrance to the village of Oberhaus at the bakery Steffl-Bäck. Turning left, the route leads back to the village of Haus - a short detour to the right takes you to the restaurant KulmiNarium in Oberhaus.

A visit to the Gothic Margarethenkirche (built in 1520) in Oberhaus - south portal entrance - should definitely be planned. The church is freely accessible during the day. The detour is definitely worth it for those interested in culture. Additional walking time approx. 15-20 minutes.

Safety on the mountainside: changes in the weather, sudden fall in temperature, thunder storms, wind, fog and snow fields are all objective dangers and require the correct behaviour whilst underway. the landlords of the huts are all very knowledgeable about the mountains and can give you good tips about the weather and the routes. Insufficient equipment, exaggerated opinion of ones capabilities, frivolousness, poor health condition and a false evaluation of the situation can lead to a critical situation. In thunder storms: summits, crest-sites and safety rope aids are to be avoided.
