The ovens are an impressive rock gorge in the Kemet Mountains between Stoderzinken and Kammspitze. Steep and winding, the road snakes through high rock walls here – a fascinating sight that is often seen in car scenes of the series.

Before a path led through the gorge, wood was transported down the valley on so-called "giants" – slide-like chutes. The ovens are not accessible by car, but you can explore them on a hike or by mountain bike.

The starting point for the hike through the ovens is the Kneipp facility in Lend. From there, a climb of about 1.5 hours leads to the managed Viehbergalm, which invites for a break. Just 30 minutes further lures the idyllic Miesbodensee, a scenic gem and perfect destination for nature lovers.

The mountain biking circuit through the ovens is not for novices: with a length of 63 km and over 1,000 meters of elevation gain, it demands good fitness and solid equipment. However, you will be rewarded with unique views and a spectacular natural backdrop.
