The Dachstein as a sound space: powerful, mysterious, dangerous, peaceful, and full of stories. With "Dachsteinklang", Marie-Theres Härtel along with her highly talented Dachstein band brings an extraordinary work to the stage of the ÖHA, a contemporary musical journey inspired by the landscape, the people, and the moods around the Dachstein.

As part of the Styrian project "Signal from Dachstein", Marie-Theres Härtel worked for three years on this composition. It has resulted in a multifaceted, award-winning music that makes mountain, nature, danger, vastness, and alpine peace audible. Following its recording, this special work now belongs where it comes alive: on stage.

The musicians come from jazz, chamber music, and folk music, all of whom are outstanding personalities in their fields and at the same time people with a genuine connection to the mountain. Free from rigid forms, the music moves between alpine sound tradition, improvisational openness, and chamber music precision. For moments, it dives into folk musical roots, then it opens vast, new sound spaces.

"Dachsteinklang" is not classical alpine music and not an ordinary jazz project; it is a chamber musical alpine symphony for our time. Powerful, subtle, surprising, and deeply connected to the Dachstein.
