Planai Classic

Austria's most popular winter rally for vintage cars takes place from January 14 to 16, 2027. The rally through the wintery Ennstal is a special challenge for the limited starting field of 50 vehicles each year – both navigationally and driving-wise.

The driving is on snow and ice without all-wheel drive and without electronic aids. Precise navigation, driving skills, and experience are at the forefront and define the unique character of the event. Accordingly, the interest in the Planai-Classic is significant.

The winter often shows its demanding side: deep snow, limited visibility, steep sections on the Dachstein road, and roads narrowing due to snow drifts. Wind gusts and icy windows challenge both man and machine equally.

The Planai-Classic offers three days of winter rally with vehicles up to the year of manufacture 1976. The routes lead, among other places, over the Alpine airfield Niederöblarn, through the side valleys of the Ennstal, over the trotting track Gröbming, and as a highlight over the perfectly prepared Planai road.

The event stands for authentic vintage car motorsport under winter conditions and is one of the last great winter adventures of this kind.
