Guided tour through the mine in Obertal
% Discounted with the Schladming-Dachstein Card
In the Bromriesenstollen, you can feel how it must have been back then to earn your bread under the harshest conditions. In the dark, equipped only with headlamps, you will be directed by the mine leader via ladders into the tunnel system. The mining methods used back then, such as fire-setting, chiseling, and blasting, are still recognizable today. The unique experience of being "underground" allows you to dive deep into the mystical life of the miners. The interplay of being impressed and a slight tingling in your stomach has prompted many to venture into the mountain once again: Good luck! There is no more impressive way to feel history!
The guided tunnel hike through the silver mining tunnel “Bromriesen” is an experience in all weather. Ankle-high mountain boots(!), durable trousers, sure-footedness, and fitness required - alpine hike with a steep approach. Poles for the descent are recommended. Provided are: helmet, headlamp, and a protective jacket.
