Damenwahl - Konzert

Three women from different Austrian regions meet as teachers at the "Woodstock Academy," singing, making music, laughing, and talking together - it's electric - like in a relationship. This also leads to musical connections - they feel the same and are one with what they do.
“Damenwahl” is the formation featuring Katrin Unterlercher: harp, hammered dulcimer, vocals, composition (studied harp at the Tyrolean State Conservatory / former harpist of Pixner Project / ensemble Katrin and Werner Unterlercher / teaching at various folk music seminars)
Christina Fischbacher: double bass, guitar, piano, vocals (studied music education at the University of Music and Performing Arts in Vienna / music and sports teacher at Borg St. Johann / speaker at various folk music seminars including the Salzburg Tradition Week, Woodstock Academy… / musician in various groups such as Pongauer Sonntagsmusi, Blusenknepf, among others)
Renate Linortner: flutes, vocals, composition (studied flute concert major at the University of Music and Performing Arts in Vienna / flutist at the Volksoper Vienna / senior lecturer at the University of Music and Performing Arts Vienna / founder of ensembles Classicalpin, Duo Austria-Latin, chamber ensemble of the Volksoper Vienna, among others / teacher at numerous masterclasses and workshops in Austria and abroad)
The musical roots of all three come from Austrian folk music - having completed instrumental studies and taken different musical paths independently, they collectively look outward and forward. Their original compositions reflect emotions they have experienced through many beautiful but also unpleasant situations in their own environment - thus, this music seems honest and unvarnished.
The rising ensemble featuring three extremely charming and beautiful ladies alternates between vocal and instrumental pieces (harp, flutes, hammered dulcimer, double bass, piano…) and is the feminine proof of versatility and flexibility!
