The traditional Dachstein Almabtrieb begins on Friday, September 25, 2026 with the "Schottenrühren" and musical entertainment at the Walcheralm.

The Harvest Festival is a very special time in our region. Numerous events and traditional festivals line the calendar of events during the so-called “5th season”. Festive atmosphere everywhere and delicious regional delicacies, of course homemade by the local farmers. An absolute highlight in the autumnal period is the Almabtrieb.

The traditional Dachstein Almabtrieb begins on Friday, September 25, 2026 with the “Schottenrühren” and musical entertainment on the Walcheralm.

On Saturday, September 26, 2026, the festival starts from 09:00 am with an Alpine breakfast on the Walcheralm. The animals will be decorated for the cattle drive from 11:00 am, starting from the Walcheralm along the Dachsteinstraße to the Walcherhof. Music and entertainment is provided at the “Hoamfoarfest” at the Walcherhof from 10:00 - 17:00.

9 am Alpine breakfast on the Walcheralm with decorating of the animals
11 am Start of the cattle drive along the Dachsteinstraße to the Walcherhof
Approx. 12 pm Arrival at the Walcherhof with subsequent “Hoamfoarfest” and musical accompaniment
