Brothers van Yarns stand for earthy indie rock with folky nuances, warm sound, and stories about friendship, longing, and life. The band hails from Golling and was formed in 2010 during a joint trip to Tuscany, emerging as a kind of "supergroup" of former members from renowned Salzburg bands.
Today, the Brothers van Yarns are characterized by a warm, organic sound, driven by powerful bass foundations, driving rhythms, and distinctive melodies. The foundation is made up of acoustic instruments like the Western guitar and ukulele, regularly supported by electric guitar, synthesizer sounds, sometimes even electronica-like beats, and highlighted by one or more trumpets. Their music feels earthy, authentic, and handmade – indie rock with folky nuances, sometimes pulsating-intensely, sometimes groovy-light, but always with a clear, distinct character. Brothers van Yarns succeed in taking their audience along and making their music tangible.
