The Dachstein Dialogues 2026 invite you once again from September 18 to 24, 2026 to Ramsau am Dachstein and Filzmoos for inspiring encounters, lectures, discussions, and concerts. Under the motto “What Can I Trust?”, the international festival for tolerance connects social dialogue, culture, and current future issues with the impressive mountainous backdrop of the Schladming-Dachstein region.

With “Gerald Knaus – Speak with Conversation”, visitors can look forward to a prominent program point on September 19 revolving around democracy, peace, and the future of Europe. Author and social scientist Gerald Knaus will discuss in his lecture “Trust in a Miracle…?” the decades-long peace project of Europe, its increasing jeopardy, and the political challenges of our time. True stories about political courage, freedom, and the responsibilities of democratic societies in an increasingly uncertain world take center stage.

Knaus will shed light on current developments in Europe, the suppression of societal dangers, and the question of what policies are necessary to ensure peace and freedom in the long term. His book “What Europe Do We Need?”, co-published with his daughter, also contributes to the lecture and addresses both younger and older generations equally. The event serves as a poignant appeal to recognize in time what is at stake for Europe’s future.
