Advent at the Dachstein Glacier

On December 19, 2026 , the Dachstein will open its doors for an unforgettable Advent evening, even before the regular start of the winter season.
As the day comes to an end and dusk falls over the Dachstein, an evening full of silence, contemplation, and pre-Christmas magic begins. At 2,700 meters above sea level, you will experience – away from the hustle and bustle of large markets – an exclusive, atmospheric Advent evening in a small, refined setting.
The glacier cable car will take you to the mountain station at 4:00 p.m., where a warming welcome punch awaits you on the panorama terrace – accompanied by a spectacular view of the snow-covered mountain landscape. Afterwards, you can enjoy a lovingly prepared 3-course menu in the glacier restaurant – a culinary prelude to an evening full of peace and enjoyment.
Highlight of the evening: Reading "Übern Stoa a Stern"
Author and storyteller Peter Gruber and musician and composer Josef Schnedl will take you on a special literary-musical journey.
The poetic performance by Gruber and Schnedl will be musically accompanied by Hans-Peter Knaus and Burkhard Höfer and will connect stories, music , and winter atmosphere into a touching Advent experience at the Dachstein.
