28. Guinness Irish Christmas - Altan & Buioch

With the 29th edition of the Guinness IRISH CHRISTMAS, one of the most successful Irish folk tours returns to Öblarn. In 2026, "The Original Show" will present a varied program full of musical quality, Irish tradition, captivating energy, and strong female power.

Featuring three extraordinary acts from Ireland and Canada:

LAOISE KELLY | Ireland

The great harpist is one of the most significant musicians in Ireland. In the 1990s, she was celebrated as the "Jimi Hendrix of the Celtic Harp" and revolutionized the Irish harp as a solo instrument. In 2020, she was awarded TG4 Musician of the Year. At the Guinness IRISH CHRISTMAS, she will once again be featured as a soloist in 2026.

CASSIE & MAGGIE | Canada

The two sisters from Nova Scotia combine powerful fiddle sounds, guitar, piano, two-part harmony singing, and step dancing into a spectacular live experience. Deeply rooted in the folk tradition of their Scottish ancestors, they are among the most exciting acts in the Canadian folk scene and have won multiple awards and nominations.

THE McGOLDRICK FAMILY | Ireland

Featuring Mike McGoldrick, one of the great cult figures of contemporary Irish folk, alongside The McGoldrick Family on stage. Supported by his nieces Catherine, Ciara, and Mairead as well as guitarist Jimmy Patrick, he presents traditional Irish music full of virtuosity, playing joy, and familial connection. McGoldrick shaped bands like Flook, Lúnasa, Capercaillie, and the Afro Celt Sound System and was a member of Mark Knopfler's band for many years. The current album "One For The Road" impressively showcases how vibrant the Irish music tradition is carried on through generations. A special concert evening with one of the world's outstanding flutists and his extraordinary family band.
