Barrier-free vacation in Ausseerland Salzkammergut

No matter where the trip goes, vacation planning should be easy. Thanks to the barrier-free excursions, facilities and hikes, everyone can enjoy their leisure time in Ausseerland without restrictions.

Barrier-free excursion destinations

On crystal-clear water that glistens beautifully on sunny days and surrounded by the imposing mountain scenery - boat trips on the magnificent lakes in Ausseerland are a special experience. On most of the ships you can easily move with a wheelchair and also more and more landing stages are being converted to be handicapped accessible. At the Seehotel Grundlsee and also in Gößl you can get on board directly via the footbridge.

And whenever assistance is needed, the staff is ready to help.

Those who long for relaxation and a quiet atmosphere will find numerous places between Altaussee and Tauplitz:

  • In the graduation plant in Altaussee, brine from the Altaussee salt mountain drips over the fir brushwood. This releases essential oils that moisten the respiratory tract and provide immediate relief for bronchial and asthma sufferers.
  • Oase Berta is the ideal place to escape the daily grind and relax - whether in the wellness area or in the idyllic garden with a fantastic view and in the company of the hotel's own alpacas.
  • The Alpenbad Bad Mitterndorf, the GrimmingTherme and the saltwater pool in the Narzissen Vital Resort offer wheelchair-accessible bathing pleasure.

Accessible hikes in the Ausseerland-Salzkammergut region

While walking, visitors discover Ausseerland leisurely and at their own pace. Selected paths run for the most part on asphalt roads and are therefore also well suited for wheelchair users. Time and again, benches and open spaces with magnificent views of the mountains and the lakes invite you to linger.

Good to know: On selected, barrier-free Via Artis paths in Altaussee and Bad Aussee, the Ausseerland shows its artistic side.

In Grundlsee, you can walk along the shore of the lake of the same name - also called the Styrian Sea. Or you can opt for the comfortable path that leads through a forest to the Toplitzsee lake in a deep rocky basin.

In Bad Mitterndorf, both the Laasen nature reserve and the Kulm ski jump are accessible without obstacles.

Unlimited enjoyment - barrier-free gastronomy

Good food is just as much a part of a successful vacation day as exciting experiences. The catering establishments with disabled access serve their guests everything their hearts desire: freshly cooked delicacies from the region for lunch or dinner as well as afternoon coffee with sweet accompaniment.
