The girl Tilda and her grandfather Amandus have a very close bond. When Amandus, who suffers from Alzheimer's disease, begins to deteriorate after the death of his wife, Tilda's family takes him in. But his illness puts Tilda's parents Niko and Sarah to many a tough test. Especially as both are very busy with themselves and their work and not everything is going well in their marriage either. Only Tilda manages to treat her grandfather with humor and understanding. When Niko, in his desperation, wants to register his father in a home, Tilda whisks Amandus away on an adventurous trip to Venice - the city where he was once so happy ...
