It is recommended to book the first accommodation of your trip as soon as your arrival date is set. If you book all of your accommodations after that on the same day, you can more easily take the weather and your current mood into account when planning. Usually, there are still a sufficient number of free rooms available. In addition, we recommend making a reservation, if:

• you are travelling during peak season or on weekends
• you value a certain standard of furnishings and equipment
• you have a set budget for your accommodation
• you would like to book an accommodation located directly on your route
• you are travelling with several people

Yes, Steiermark Touristik, the travel agency of Steiermark Tourismus, is happy to organise your luggage transport and also the booking of accommodation in cooperation with partners such as Eurobike.

There are several types of rental bikes available along the cycle paths (city bike, trekking bike, e-bike). In some cases, you can rent the bikes per day, per weekend or per week. In others, the rental bikes are only available to hotel guests - sometimes even free of charge. Please check with the respective provider, such as our partner Aktiv-Urlaub-Steiermark.

The signage of the provincial and district cycle paths is uniform in Styria – with green signs and white lettering. The signs are placed at every junction and turn-off and all main points - on longer sections of the route also along the way on the straights.

Regarding the Styrian Wine Country Cycling Route specifically, there is the additional marking with the Styrian Wine Country Cycling Route symbol. Occasionally, the signposts also include information about the place and length in kilometres. This ensures easy orientation and planning of the route. • a circular tour in the south of the Spa and Volcano Country in combination with the Gleichberg Cycling Tour R45 and the Raabtal Cycling Tour R11 with the corner points Fehring - Bad Radkersburg - Donnersdorf - Bad Gleichenberg - Feldbach - Fehring.

The section from Bad Radkersburg via Leibnitz and on into the Sulmtal valley to Schwanberg is particularly suitable for families due to the very slight differences in altitude. In addition, the Styrian Wine Country Cycling Route is led on cycle paths away from roads. Numerous excursion destinations such as outdoor pools and bathing lakes or the motor park in Gamlitz provide variety here.

For a short cycling excursion along the Styrian Wine Country Cycling Route, the section around the Stubenberg lake is ideal. There, you can visit the wildly romantic Stubenberg ravine, the lake and the Herberstein animal world - a true paradise for children.

• the connection of the Mur Cycling Path with the Drau Cycling Path at Fisching via the Zirbenland Cycling Path R26 and the Lavanttal Cycling Path R10.
• Circular tours in combination with the Styrian Wine Country Cycling Route: on the one hand, the variant from Graz via East Styria and the Spa and Volcano Country to Bad Radkersburg, where we meet the Mur Cycle Path. Since the Mur Cycling Path runs mostly downhill along the river, almost the entire cycle path is suitable for families, if the children have cycling experience. Due to the low ascents to be mastered and the attractions for children along these sections, the following sections are recommended:

• Tamsweg - Murau with Finstergrün Castle, the Wood Museum, the Kreischberg cable cars and the old town of Murau.
• Bruck an der Mur - Graz with the Bärenschütz ravine, the Lurgrotte, the Stübing open-air museum and Graz with all of its attractions.
• Leibnitz - Bad Radkersburg with the Roman excavations in Falvia Solva, the Genussregal near Vogau, the Mureck Ship Mill and finally the Parktherme in Bad Radkersburg.

In the Gesäuse region is the bike transfer of Taxi Thalhuber, Tel. +43 3637 212, and Taxi Wagner in Admont, Tel. +43 3616 2406, a possibility.

The combination with the Pyhrnbahn train is also popular, where you change to the Steyrtalradweg in Steyr, cycle to Klaus an der Pyhrnbahn and then return to Selzthal with the Pyhrnbahn, where you can take the train to Schladming/Radstadt. The majority of the Ennsradweg is suitable for families, if the children have experience in cycling. Please be aware that the sections through the Gesäuse National Park and the Kalkalpen National Park are partly on very busy roads (with lorry traffic) and are therefore unsuitable for children. In the Gesäuse region is the bike transfer of Taxi Thalhuber, Tel. +43 3637 212, and Taxi Wagner in Admont, Tel. +43 3616 2406, a possibility to cross the parts on the road. So we recommend the Flachau - Admont and Großraming - Steyr sections for tours with the whole family.
