What is artistic, rather striking and is lovingly called the "Friendly Alien"? The Graz Art Museum of course! In the heart of Styria, it inspires its visitors with modern architecture, but also with contemporary art.
The architectural landmark of Graz is a favourite attraction for lovers of art and culture from around the world. Opened in 2003 by the architects Peter Cook and Colin Fournier, the building enters into an exciting relationship with the adjoining building fabric of the former Baroque suburb on the Mur River. The art museum is very chicly integrated into the culture and culinary capital of Graz. On the so-called "Needle", the viewing platform of the art museum, guests can enjoy a wonderful view of the Graz old town.
