Beautiful hike with numerous opportunities to stop for refreshments.
As early as the Hallstatt period (8th - 5th century BC), there was a settlement here covering about 20 hectares. The finds from this period point to the largest Hallstatt-period necropolis (= burial site) in the Eastern Alps, with around 3000 urn graves. The area was continuously inhabited.

Coming from the south, north, west and east on the A9 Phyrnautobahn - exit Leibnitz - continue in the direction of Kaindorf/S - Heimschuh - Großklein.
The hike begins at the Hallstatt Museum in Großklein - past the Großklein inns Steirerkeller, Wrolli-Edler and Wagner - up the Nestelberg to the Buschenschank Pugl winery and on to the Buschenschank Maier winery. Continue over the Karsabathe to the Buschenschank Klopfer vulgo Glaserkeller winery and finally over the Kohlberg - Lassenberg - Karberg area on municipal paths back to the starting point.
Also visit the Hallstatt Museum and enjoy the magnificent view from the Kreuzbergwarte!
We take the train to Kaindorf a.d.Sulm.
