Two-country tour - the royal stage.

Open
In the grand tours of the road professionals, the king's stages are those sections of the day that are the longest for the participants and are packed with the most metres in altitude.
Sometimes the entire tour is decided on these stages. Fortunately, the Two-Country Tour as the king stage of the borderless mountain bike tours in Eibiswald is not about time and placings. That would be far too bad considering the beautiful landscape and countless viewpoints. A good portion of fitness and/or a spare battery for the e-bike are nevertheless of great benefit, as the bare figures impressively prove with around 80 kilometres and 3,500 metres of ascent.

The "Two-Country Tour: the King's Stage" loop is the mountain bike tour of your choice if you

  • you already have a few annual kilometres and metres of altitude in your legs and are there
  • fore sufficiently prepared for this tour,
  • you want to get to know the Römerweg, one of the original climbs of the Eibiswald mountain bike scene up to the Radlpass,
  • are looking for a really cool gravel bike or mountain bike tour and want to get the most out of your bike on the super casual gravel tracks on the Slovenian part,
  • want to experience a staccatissimo of unforgettable views of the Drau Valley and over to the Petze and the Steiner Alps,
  • are looking for a place like the church of Sveti Jernej, where a dreamlike view with some time and leisure should inspire you to strength-giving inner dialogues and new insights,
  • want to get to know the famous "Zweibachgraben" above Muta, enjoy the small cluster of houses in Laaken and thus one of the very, very quietest and most beautiful places on the Soboth,
  • take a detour from Laaken to Gasthof Strutz and enjoy some delicious freshly caught trout (registration required),
  • take a well-deserved break in St. Oswald ob Eibiswald and experience the wonderful atmosphere in the village centre around the church,
  • as the last highlight of the tour, enjoy the view from the Buchenberg lookout down into south-western Styria.
