Austria-Via Ferrata Sinabell
Open
The Sinabell was constructed in June 2012, and it is top-secured by metal foothold pegs and bars.
Sinabell's impressive southwest-facing wall can be seen from afar. At the summit, an alpine meadow, filled with flowers and grazing sheep, invites you to take a break with wonderful views across mountaintops from the Enns Valley and the Schladminger Tauern to the high-alpine terrain of 'Am Stein'.

More information
Arriving from the west:
From the west you can take the Munich-Salzburg motorway, continuing on the Tauern motorway (A 10) until the Ennstal junction. From here take the Ennstal A-road (the B 320) for around 30 km into the Schladming-Dachstein region, then take the Ramsau am Dachstein turn-off. Continue to the Ramsau plateau and about 1 km after Ramsau Kulm turn right to Rössing street (Rössingstraße) and continue junction (Abzweigung) Feistererhof.
Arriving from the north and east:
From the south-east take the Pyhrnautobahn motorway (A 9) to the Liezen junction and then the Ennstal A-road (B 320) into the Schladming-Dachstein region. Then take the Ramsau am Dachstein turn-off. Continue to the Ramsau plateau and about 1 km after Ramsau Kulm turn right to Rössing street (Rössingstraße) and continue junction (Abzweigung) Feistererhof.
Approach:
You will hike up in the direction of the Feisterscharte, then take a right turn below the rockface of the Sinabell, bringing you to the start of the via ferrata. The hike up to the Guttenberghaus from the Feistererhof parking spot takes 2.5 - 3 hours (1000 vm).
Descent:
From the summit of the Sinabell, the path drops down the grassy ridge to the Feisterscharte. The path is indicated by stone cairns and red dots, bringing you back to the Guttenberghaus.
Alternative:
From the Feisterscharte, take path No. 618 ("Königsetappe"), then drop down through Silberkarklamm (maintenance fee) to the Feistererhof parking spot.
Due to constant C-rated via ferrata passages, especially for climbers with less experience, this via ferrata seems even harder. As a day-tour from the valley, due to the long hike up involving an over 1000 m vertical gain, this via ferrata is physically very demanding. If you include an ovenight at the Guttenberghaus, it becomes a beautiful half-day tour.
