Away from the hustle and bustle, the ski resorts of the region of Graz offer a relaxed skiing experience. The number of slopes and lifts may not be as high as in other resorts – but the same is true for the ski pass prices!

The ski resorts around Graz offer snow fun in a charming atmosphere and stunning nature. Most locals learned how to ski on the mountains surrounding Graz. Even world-class athletes such as Austrian national team member Conny Hütter or Olympic snowboard medallist Marion Kreiner started their “snow career” at the local ski resorts.

The “ski experts” are located in the west, in the Steirische Rucksackdörfer and Lipizzanerheimat regions.

Ski and the City: You can also go skiing in the immediate surroundings of Graz, for instance at the family ski lift in the centre of St. Radegund or at Wimmer lift in Eggersdorf.

With your skis strapped on, the ski lift takes you effortlessly to the top and you can start carving up the fresh snow. In the west of the Graz region, in the home of the Lippizan horse and Styrian backpack villages, the ski slopes are perfectly prepared. All beginnings are hard, they say, but it doesn’t have to be that way! Depending on your preference, a course in skiing, cross-country skiing or snowboarding is an option. It is definitely worth it and it is a lot of fun!
