Popular mountain bike route via the panorama road (toll road - but toll-free for cyclists and mountain bikers!) to the extensive alpine pasture area of the Bürgeralm.
Trail conditions: The entire route is a gravel road.
Refreshment stops: Liftstüberl at the valley station of the double chairliftPierergut inn - www.wirtshaus-pierergut.at Almrauschhütte on the Bürgeralm (Tel. 03861/22125). There is also a fountain at the bottom of the alp where you can quench your first thirst with the best Hochschwab water.Special features: Extensive alpine pasture area with rich alpine flora (arnica, edelweiss, gentian) - cozy alpine huts for rent - panoramic trail - via ferrata (overall requirement: medium, arena variant: extreme F - can be bypassed) - hang glider launch ramp - nature adventure playground - bike trails.TIP: Take your mountain bike along the alpine path to Schönleiten and stop at Schönleitenhaus(www.schoenleitenhaus.at). From the south: From Kapfenberg on the B20From the north: Via Mariazell and the Seeberg on the B20From the east: Via Semmering on the S6 to Kapfenberg and further on the B20
From the valley station of the double chairlift to the tollgate of the Bürgeralm Panoramastraße. Continue following the road over several hairpin bends, from which you can always enjoy a magnificent view of the Hochschwab massif and the Aflenz valley, to the alpine pasture of the Bürgeralm.
TIPP: Mit dem Gravel- oder Mountainbike über den Almweg auf die Schönleiten und Einkehr im Schönleitenhaus, www.schoenleitenhaus.at.
Von dort hat man einen traumhaften Ausblick auf das Hochschwabmassiv - bis zur Hochschwab-Südwand.
