More information
Follow the signs to Kapfenstein Castle, Winkler-Hermaden Winery.
Detailed information on how to get there can be found here.
First we hike a little downhill on a narrow forest path, over the country road and then quite evenly along, straight towards the Gleichenberger Kogel. After the very unusually designed Pfeiferkapelle, we continue a little downhill, through Holler plantations and a very dense small forest and finally uphill again to the Trassstein quarry with its shimmering play of colors, where we meet the backbone. We follow it below the Bschaidkogel past to the millstone quarry and then down to the center of Bad Gleichenberg.Continue through the spa park with its unique tree population and the bark chapel, on the backbone to the south, until we branch off shortly after the dilapidated Krügelei on the hand track. It leads us over the Rudorfskogel with its beautiful view of Bad Gleichenberg and the Sulzbachtal to Trautmannsdorf, where the kunst&kraft trail accompanies us for a bit. Through the very varied landscape with breezy meadows and shady woods we reach Poppendorf. Through the village we follow the stream and finally branch off to Poppendorf Castle. In the meantime we are already on the Kaskögerlweg (see tour no. 32), named after the small mountain that can call itself the westernmost volcano in the region. Via the Schlossmoar, a very stimulating place that strengthens especially the physical resistance via the thymus gland (behind the breastbone), we reach the market town of Gnas.
Enjoy the spa park "Green Salon" in Bad Gleichenberg!
