Route planner

  • The starting point of our Vespa tour is St. Ruprecht an der Raab. We drive out of town towards the north and stay on the country road towards Mitterdorf. A wide variety of fruits and vegetables thrive along the Raab, such as cherries, apples, strawberries, maize, soybeans, beetle beans, pumpkins and much more.
  • We pass Stadl Castle and arrive in Mitterdorf an der Raab. Now begins a winding route that takes us to Jassing, on to Pircha, Frindorf and Fasslberg. Here we continue to the Nadischhöhe and come out in Mariatrost.
  • Tip: Visit the pilgrimage church Basilika Mariatrost. A magnificent baroque building that rises into the sky on the outskirts of Graz.
  • Only a few hundred metres away is the Hilmteich pond. It is also worth stopping here to visit the Lederleitner nursery on the Hilmteich. Here you can stroll through the beautiful shop and nursery or enjoy a coffee right by the pond.
  • Now we continue to the city centre - to Graz. We follow Elisabethstraße, further on Glacisstraße and reach Cafe Promenade in Erzherzog-Johann-Allee. We can either park our Vespa here and enjoy some tapas or continue to Freiheitsplatz at the foot of the Schlossberg.
  • Tip: Take the lift or the cogwheel railway up to the Schlossberg or walk up and marvel at the red roofs of Graz! The view is magnificent, as is the "aiola upstairs" (culinary tip).
  • Now we set off on foot to discover the city: explore the city centre and stroll through the many shops and cafés (Sporgasse, Hauptplatz, Franziskanerplatz, Glockenspielplatz). Don't miss the Murinsel, the Zeughaus, Volkskundemuseum, Neue Galerie, Joanneum and Kunsthaus (all admission free with GenussCard).
  • When we walk back to the Vespa and start our journey home, we follow Erzherzog-Johann-Allee out of town again, come to Glacisstraße, Bergmanngasse, Humboldtstraße, Wickenburggasse.
  • On our tour we cruise through the city centre, which is known for its historic buildings and beautiful facades. Now we cross the Mur on the Kepplerbrücke, a 450 km long river that flows through the provincial capital and shapes the cityscape.
  • We reach Lendplatz, an up-and-coming artists' and cultural quarter. We follow Kepplerstraße and reach the railway station. A recommended "detour" is the trip to Eggenberg.
  • For this we turn into Eggenberger Straße at Bahnhofgürtel and drive along Eggenberger Allee until we reach Eggenberg Palace. Admission to the palace, including a guided tour, is free with the GenussCard for stays of 3 nights or more.
  • A walk through the impressive palace park is recommended at any time of the year. Peacocks beat their wheels there and strut through the park.
  • To start our journey home, we now cycle back along Eggenberger Allee to the railway station, Bahnhofgürtel, Kepplerstraße, Kepplerbrücke, Lendtplatz, Lendkai, Grießkai, Augartenbrücke, Grazbachgasse. Graz's city centre has grown historically, which explains the many small streets and turns.
  • The next orientation points on our city tour are Dietrichsteinplatz, Schlögelgasse, Luttergasse, Glacisstraße and Kaiser-Josef-Platz. Here, from Monday to Saturday mornings, a farmer's market of a special kind takes place. Flowers, pumpkin products, fresh bread, fruit and vegetables from local farmers are tastefully presented here.
  • The opera is definitely worth a visit!
  • We now continue on Leonhardtstraße into Riesstraße to Gleisdorf. In the energy town of Gleisdorf we can stroll through the town and have a bite to eat in one or two cafés.
  • Now we take the Vespa to Ludersdorf and visit the Genussvinothek Hütter. Here we find exquisite wines from Austria and all over the world, as well as personal advice.
  • The next stop on the programme is the castle and golf club Gut Freiberg.
  • We return to Hotel Locker & Légere via Fünfing and reach our destination, St. Ruprecht an der Raab.
  • Overnight stay at Hotel Locker & Légere**** directly in the centre of St. Ruprecht an der Raab!
  • Over 120 excursion destinations, enjoyment stations and experiences with the GenussCard FREE OF CHARGE.
