Cheeseway Planneralm

Open
ALPINE DAIRY & ALPINE FARMING. A hiking trail that, in addition to all kinds of interesting facts about alpine life in the Donnersbachtal, also offers wonderful insights into the mountains and alpine pastures.
The Kasweg trail connects two very special alpine pastures. While much (not everything, because there is so much more) revolves around the white gold of the mountains on the Schrabachalm, the big star on the Planneralm is the mountain pine. On this tour, your sense of taste and smell will be equally pleased - promised!

More information

Exit from the B320 in Trautenfels in the direction of Donnersbach. From Donnersbach a 12 km toll-free mountain road leads up to the Planneralm.
Starting from the Schrabachhütte, the trail crosses the road and then runs over hill and dale, meadows and moss on a pleasant incline up to the Planneralm. Information boards along the way provide insight into alpine life and explain why the Steirerkas tastes the way it does and why the cows are particularly happy up here.

Everything is homemade! Of course it is also possible to taste these alpine specialties. At a cozy stop in the Schrabachhütte, the choice is often not easy. Therefore the tip - just try everything or simply take it home ;-)

Nose free! And that works best on the Planneralm. Because in the highest situated Styrian mountain village, the precious mountain pine oil is produced according to time-honored tradition (how could it be otherwise). A true pleasure for humans and nose! To smell by the way in the mountain pine distillery.

Don't be surprised, just be amazed! During this hike, every now and then a little pig or a "Goaß" runs across your path.
There gives no puplic transport.
Large, free parking lot on the Planneralm.

Garbage on meadows and paths can not smell mountain and valley. Please take it with you. Agriculture and forestry are important partners for Berg und Tal. They allow you to walk and drive on many of their paths. Be aware that only good cooperation will guarantee your recreational enjoyment in the future.
