This traditional hiking trail leads from Ramsau Ort to the alpine pasture region at the foot of the Dachstein.
This hike can also be combined with public transport: either take the bus to Türlwand and walk back down to Ramsau Ort or do it the other way around.

From Gasthof Edelbrunn, hike up a forest path past Dachsteinhaus towards Türlwand.
The gorgeous viewpoint with a bench, called 'Sitzbichl' awaits you with beautiful views of the western parts of Ramsau's plateau and, of the Schlaminger Tauern.

The 5-Huts Trail leads through alpine pastures and joins the Dachsteinstraße, just below the Gasthof Hunerkogel. Now, you are only 100 m from Dachstein Gondola's bottom station. From there, the path (no. 6 and no. 615) will cross the coombe, through snowfields and past rock walls, to the Südwandhütte.
The Südwanhütte's positioning at the foot of Dachstein's south face offers a beautiful panorama. Take the Pernerweg and descent towards the southern walls. Turn left and take the steep descending path that will take you back through a larch forest and the 'Maralm' pasture.
This special place benefits from a natural amphitheatre with a little brook and wonderful views back onto the southern walls.
