Slow motion hiking with donkeys and treasures from the natural park

Pöllau

On a slow-motion hike with donkeys, these clever fellows take you through the gently rolling Pöllauer Tal natural park in East Styria.

While a slow pace is usually an exception and stress a constant companion of our time, walking together with the noble-minded grey animals becomes a lasting experience. Their calmness and composure can help to see things perhaps a little more relaxed. Hiking with these faithful companions through the Pöllauer Tal natural park is therefore a good opportunity to get used to the different pace.

By the way: donkeys are often said to be very stubborn animals. However, when they appear to be stubborn, what they are really doing is assessing the potential danger of a situation. When they feel safe again, they continue at a leisurely pace.

Winter resort tip: From a culinary point of view, this winter hike takes you past the farm of the Muhr family. With great dedication, they process and refine what nature provides. The results are award-winning juices, nectars and brandies. Produced, among other things, from the Pöllauer Hirschbirne. An old pear variety from Styria that can only be found here in the Pöllauer Tal natural park.
